Toyota Debuts the bZ4X, the All-Electric SUV Concept

Partnering up with Subaru, Toyota is heading innovations in alternative-fuel technologies for a carbon-neutral future. This endeavor begins with the introduction of Toyota’s bZ4X concept, a beautiful and sleek SUV design that features a new AWD system. The bZ4X is just the first of many from Toyota’s lineup of 70 electrified models that all will be out on the market by 2025. The electric line-up will include 15 new battery electric vehicles.

BELOW ZERO CONCEPT SUV: Toyota’s concept bZ4X (bZ, Below Zero) will be built on Subaru’s new e-TNGA BEV-dedicated AWD platform that offers both comfort and enhances the SUV’s performance. The EV bZ4X will feature a long wheelbase with short overhangs and provide vast amounts of interior space. The open-designed interior will provide ultimate comfort in the cockpit with a low-positioned instrument panel and instruments just above the steering wheel for increased visibility. With the bZ4X Concept SUV, Toyota strives for class-leading safety features for its peaceful and safe experience while out on the road.

ELECTRIC LINE-UP: Toyota has plans to build a line-up of approximately 70 electrified models globally by 2025. This will include seven models of the bZ brand. Toyota also plans to design and manufacture an electrified pickup truck lineup that utilizes both hybrid and BEV powertrains. This diverse lineup of electrified products is a step closer to carbon neutrality.

The Toyota bZ4X will first hit the auto markets in Japan and China by 2022.
