One of the best parts of the new Tundra is the engine. The all-new i-Force 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 makes 389 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. of torque. While the i-Force MAX hybrid powertrain is coming, we do not have all the details on that motor at this time. The 2022 Tundra comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission and can be had in either two-wheel drive or 4×4.

When properly equipped, the 2022 Tundra can tow up to 12,000 pounds and has a maximum payload capacity of 1,940 pounds.

The 2022 Tundra is a premium towing machine. When hitched up, the Tundra’s advanced towing tech works its magic. After you plug the trailer into the Tundra’s available seven-pin connector, the Tundra calculates its length without any input from the driver. With two new tow/haul modes, the Tundra can adjust throttle response based on what you’re towing. From small utility trailers to RVs, the Tundra’s equipped with all the tech and capability you need to tow with confidence.

The adaptive variable suspension is available for the first time on the Tundra. It can adjust damping force based on changing road conditions. Whether it be a large pothole, bump, or rocks, the Tundra’s built-in actuators in the front and rear shock absorbers are designed to continuously change damping force for refined riding comfort, confident handling, and enhanced towing stability.

Another trick feature is the Tundra’s load-leveling rear height control air suspension. The rear air suspension automatically adjusts the rear to help it stay level when hauling a heavy load. There are also three different manual height modes for easy entry or more ground clearance to clear larger obstacles.

Of course, there are several camera views for easy parking and trailer hook-up.
