One of the biggest additions to the Corolla family is the first-ever 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid. Previously introduced as a gasoline-only vehicle, the Corolla Cross brought added ground clearance and versatility to the sporty and economical Corolla Sedan and Hatchback variants. The 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid features a fifth-generation hybrid drive system and comes exclusively with all-wheel drive. The Corolla Cross Hybrid makes 194 horsepower and scoots from 0-60 mph in eight seconds. The Corolla Cross Hybrid achieves a manufacturer estimated 37 combined miles per gallon for all grades.
The 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid will be available in three new grades: S, SE, and XSE, as well as the familiar LE and XLE grades on the traditional gasoline-only models. As stated in Toyota’s press release of this new model, “the S and SE grades come standard with 17-inch Alloy wheels, 8-inch touchscreen, a sport-tuned suspension, LED head and tail lamps and smart key access. The SE grade adds privacy glass, roof rails, and paddle shifters – not to mention standard Blind-Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). When moving up to the XSE grade, the Corolla Cross Hybrid’s sportiest offering builds on the features of the SE and gains standard 18-inch Alloy wheels, premium LED headlamps, taillamps, and fog lamps, Softex-trimmed seats with the addition of heated front seats, and a power driver’s seat.”
The exterior of the Corolla Cross Hybrid is familiar yet unique to the hybrid model. If you choose the SE or XSE grade, you can option a two-tone black roof for added flair.
Standard across all Corolla Cross grades for 2023 is the new Toyota Multimedia System, Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. There are also added USB-C charge ports to keep all your devices ready for action. The new Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system includes enhanced versions of the Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beams, and more!
The 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid sedan gets four new models added to the hybrid lineup. One of the biggest new features is the addition of an all-wheel drive system. Traditionally, all Corolla Hybrids have been front-wheel drive. The four new grades added to the lineup are the LE all-wheel drive, SE front-wheel drive, SE all-wheel drive, and XLE.
Notably, the 2023 Corolla Hybrid is the only compact hybrid passenger car available with all-wheel drive. For buyers, that means getting the best of both worlds: added traction for slippery road conditions and efficient fuel economy.
The exterior for all three Corolla body styles (sedan, Hatchback, and Cross) have been refreshed with the option for some new exterior hues.
