The gas Highlanders will be powered by a V6 engine and the hybrid models will be powered by a new generation of hybrid powertrain. The gas models are set to achieve an estimated 22 MPG combined, while the hybrids will get an estimated 34 MPG combined.
Safety is the first priority for the 2020 Highlander, as this vehicle is a favorite for growing families. It will feature Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 (TSS 2.0), which has the latest technology to keep your loved ones safe. Features of TSS 2.0 are Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Lane Tracing Assist and Road Sign Assist. The last two features are new to the TSS suite. Learn more about each feature at the link in this paragraph.
While safety is a main concern for the Highlander, technology is another big one. The 2020 Highlander has cutting-edge connectivity and entertainment for everyone riding along. There’s a new 12.3-inch touchscreen on the Platinum model and an 8-inch screen on the other models. With the available JBL Premium Sound System that delivers 1,200 watts of power, listening to music on the radio or your connected device will sound better than ever.
There are plenty of storage compartments and USB ports throughout the cabin for easy accessibility and charging on the go. For those without a power cord, the available Qi wireless charging pad in the center stack is a big help.
The 2020 Highlander gas models will arrive in December, while the hybrids are scheduled to arrive in February of 2020. Until then, we’ll keep you updated here and on our Facebook page of any news.
